If you’re following me on all of my social media channels, you know that today is my 9th wedding anniversary. It’s been 9 beautiful and amazing married years of my life. It also marks another milestone for my relationship and this blog. So Ware is the Vodka has slowly over the last few months truly become hold the vodka. You’ve probably pieced together by now that David and I are expecting a baby.
Yeah, you read that correctly. I’m pregnant. As much as I would like to say that this was some planned gig that we decided to give a shot, I would be lying to you (and myself). The best things in life are unexpected, so SURPRISE! We are slowly adjusting to the fact that we are actually going to be responsible for a tiny human. Each and every moment has been surreal and the journey is truly just beginning.
It was two days after my 30th birthday that I discovered that this was real life. At first, I was extremely nervous and in denial. About 9 pregnancy tests, an Ob/Gyn appointment, and the fast thumping heartbeat of this little one – reality slapped me directly in the face. David and I are going to be parents. Over the last few months, I’ve managed to keep myself together battling the morning sickness, exhaustion, and watching my body slightly start to change right before my eyes. Each and every day it’s slowly become easier to wrap my head around the fact that we are actually going to do this. Well, I mean we know that we’re going to do this but IT’S REAL.
Here we are moving forward, transitioning to a new unexpected chapter of our lives. I promise to try and share more in the next few weeks now that the secret it out, but don’t hold me to it. I’ve been very private about this so far because I need something of my own. This little girl is my biggest something.
And yes, we are having a mini me.
