After a tough workout, Jenna was feeling pretty good about how well she was bouncing back after her first kid. At 32, she couldn’t believe that she was a mom. Now more than ever her priorities has shifted drastically. She was even more motivated now to work out since her doctor put her on bedrest at 7 months. Each workout was an incentive and gift to her body that she would not let that happen again should she and Leo decide on a sibling for their little one. The muscles in her body were growing stronger each and every workout, which made her more than proud of herself.
As she pulled in the driveway, she reminded herself to get Leo to take out the trash after dinner. It was just after 7:00, which meant the little man was being put to bed by daddy and she wouldn’t dare open the garage. His room wasn’t anywhere near it, but he wasn’t the heaviest sleeper and it would definitely wake him up.
Jenna quietly creeped into the front door and was greeted from across the room by a low grunt from her beloved bulldog Bruiser. He knew the drill as she walked over to him and gave him the loving he had grown to expect. As she walked toward Micah’s room with Bruiser hot on her heels, she could hear the quiet low hum drifting from the slightly ajar door.
Instantly her heart swelled with pride as she recalled what attracted her to Leo in the first place. Besides the honey colored eyes that stared deep into your soul, he had one of the most velvety soft singing voices that captivated you. She had literally made him sing her the ABCs on their second date just to listen to his soft baritone voice. The closer she got to the room, the clearer the faint sound of his deep singing voice mesmerized her.
The faint creak of the rocking chair they had received from Leo’s parents complimented the sweet sound of Leo softly singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to Micah.
Then you show your little light
Twinkle, twinkle all the night
Gentle coos came from their sweet little boy as his daddy soothed him to sleep. Jenna watched as Bruiser curled up outside of the ajar door as the melodic voice continued the lullaby. Before Jenna knew it, she was on the floor sitting against the wall with Bruiser realizing how lucky her life truly was.
