I managed to kick off the first weekend in March with a Grade A! I may not get a Spring Break, but I plan on making the most out of every weekend in March to make up for that.
This little blog has been a platform for quite a bit, but one cause that’s near and dear to me is the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Walk. With Claire and Nan both being breast cancer survivors, it just makes sense that I have an investment in this cause. Well, my favorite little Pink House in Carrollton was the host for an official Walk and Talk this weekend. So I got up and ventured out for a 3 mile training walk with a few wonderful ladies. It felt really good and I knew that after those 3 miles I would get to shop at my favorite little boutique in Downtown Carrollton, The Vintage House!
It was perfect start to Saturday and it just got better from there. I came home to a sleeping husband, which was fine because he had worked an overnighter. It gave me every excuse to take a quick shower and curl into bed for an afternoon nap. YOU READ THAT RIGHT, I TOOK A NAP ON A SATURDAY! No regrets. I did the one thing I love to do….
And I did! It was so nice, even with the headache I woke up with. With all the fun planned for the evening, I wasn’t going to let that stop me. I got all dolled up and ready for a fun night out on the town with a few of my favorite people. Our night started at the Drunken Donkey for dinner and drinks, but I quickly started to realize as we sat in this bar and grill that I am reaching an age that I cannot deal with the rowdiness of some people (with horrible service mixed in). This wasn’t my favorite place to partake in food and drinks, but the company was great!
Following the mediocre dinner and drinks, we had every intention of going to TopGolf with a gift card from Christmas….that 2 hour wait just didn’t sound like a good idea. David came up with the great idea to go bowling, which started our tour of the local bowling establishments in the Denton County area! From Lake Lanes where we saw a man in a dress and wig to Main Event and a THREE hour wait to bowl – we finally found our home at AMF Lewisville. A short wait and a few beers later, our night was finally on a roll (see what I did there, a roll)!
The night was amazing, even with a few detours and hiccups. It was great having the opportunity to spend time with three of my favorite people.
How was your weekend? I know mine definitely went by too fast, especially with the whole Daylight Savings time.
